How Can I Join?

How do I Join CGAC ?

The Center Grove Aquatic Club offers a variety of programs including learn-to-swim classes, pre-competitive, structured age-group competitive teams from beginner to national level for swimmers interested in swimming. Sharks & Minnows (pre-competitive team) and private Swim lessons are also available as options based on your child's abilities and experience.

Open evaluations for New/Transferring Swimmers for the 2018 Spring/Summer season take place either at the Center Grove High School Natatorium located at 2717 S. Morgantown Road, Greenwood, IN or at our second site at the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center (RLFC) pool located at 1400 E Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis on campus of University of Indianapolis (UIndy).

CGAC holds new swimmer evaluations on the first and last Mondays and Thursdays of every month for swimmers 5-18 years of age wishing to take that next step in swimming and join our club.  For questions, please send an email to AGCoach@cgacswim.org

Evaluation sessions last about 15 minutes so our coaches can properly assess each prospective athlete’s skill set.

Swimmers must be able to complete a full length of freestyle (with side breathing) of the 25 yard pool and a full length backstroke as part of the evaluation.

Please be sure your swimmer brings a suit, towel, and a pair of goggles. USA Swimming requires a copy of your swimmer's birth certificate for registration. Please bring a photocopy of your prospective swimmer's birth certificate to their evaluation.

To save time, parents can complete the top portion of the New Swimmer Assessment Form before your swimmer comes to the evaluation. Click HERE for the New Swimmer Assessment Form.  If you do not have swim goggles, the CGAC staff will provide a loaner pair for evaluations.

Transferring Swimmers New to CGAC?: If you are transferring from another USA Swimming Club/Team, you will also need to print and complete the Indiana Swimming Change/Transfer Form.  Please find the form here and bring it with you to your swimmer's evaluation.

After the evaluation, the coach will let you know what training group your swimmer will be placed. CGAC Staff will also provide you with information about starting the online registration process.  We will also provide you with important dates and information about our upcoming Parent Meetings, Open House/Q&A days.
