GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS

DUNELAND SWIM CLUB

 COVID-19 GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS

*As Covid-19 continues to evolve and change, our policy will evolve to meet the current CDC, Porter County Health Department, and Facility Guidelines and Recommendations

a.           Do not come to practice if you have any symptoms of being sick, including but not limited to:  fever, headache, chills, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cough, body aches, loss of taste or smell, extreme fatigue, etc.

b.           Swimmers are to come in suits with towel, goggles, cap and mask ready to swim. Changing areas will be available at the beginning and end of practice if necessary.

c.             All parents and/or non-participants at the designated practice are not permitted in the facility.  Exceptions:  parents of new swimmers at tryouts and parents of group 5 swimmers will be allowed in the facility for 5 minutes before and after practice to assist their swimmer with preparation and dressing to exit.

d.             We will continue to follow the Duneland School Corporation facility rules and guidelines. At this time a nose and mouth covering of some sort is required in and out of facilities and in locker rooms while changing. When the facility requires the use of masks, we ask the swimmer to bring a plastic bag with their name on it to put their mask in behind their lane.  This regulation may change as the facility and or state change their guidelines.  If these changes occur our club will send out an update with the most current requirements of the Duneland School Corporation.

e.              If a swimmer needs to cough or sneeze, they should do so in their elbow in the direction away from other swimmers and at least 6 feet apart.

f.               Use the restroom before you come to practice.  Restrooms will be opened but only used in an emergency and one at a time. Swimmers should take extra care to wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds after using the restroom.

g.              Specific entrances and exits will continue to be designated for each facility. Everyone must exit after their practice. Parents must pick up promptly at the end of practice. If you fail to follow the rules, you will be removed from practice. Continuation of misbehavior may result in expulsion from the team for the remainder of the season.

h.       Members will be notified about any possible risks associated with Covid-19 while maintaining privacy for our members.  We will be very transparent about possible exposures and test results that may occur in a training group. If anyone has direct contact during practice with a member who has tested positive, we will contact them directly and contact our health department for guidance.
