Swim Meet Expectations

Description

Pre-Competitive Group

Pre-competitive group is for all  new children to the sport.

Practices are one hour and fifteen minutes and are offered three times a week.

Group will run September to February and April to July.

Swimmers must be able to complete a 25 yard freestyle with rotary breathing and a 25 yard backstroke.

 

Once a swimmer becomes proficient in the strokes he/she will move up to the appropriate training group.

None.

Designed as an introduction into competitive swimming.

This group will focus on the basics of competitive swimming, technique and stroke development while providing a fun and dynamic environment.

Developmental Group

For swimmers 8&U

Practices will be held 3 times a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Swimmers must be able to complete 25 yards of each stroke and a 100yd freestyle At least 3 meets a season and championships (if applicable).

 

Emphasis is on stroke technique and learning about good practice habits. Introduction to competitions begins in this level.

 

Junior Group

For swimmers between the ages of 9 and 12.

Practices are held five days a week for 2 hours.

Dryland training is introduced during practice times.

While practices are not mandatory, the more a swimmer participates, the more they will improve.

Swimmers must be able to complete 50 yards of each stroke and a 200yd freestyle

At least 3 meets a season and championships (if applicable).

Emphasis is on refining stroke technique.  A more advanced endurance training regime is also introduced.

Senior Group

Designed for  swimmers ages 13&Over.

Practice sessions are 2 hours, six times a week.

While practices are not mandatory, the more a swimmer participates, the more they will improve.

Swimmers must be able to complete 8x100's on a 1:40 interval 

At least 4 meets a season and championships (if applicable).

Designed for swimmers who are looking to swim competitively at a high school level.

Swimmers will continue to refine technique for all four strokes while building endurance.

National Group

This team consists of our elite competitors who have shown a significant commitment to the sport of swimming.

Swimmers train 8 to 9 times a week with additional dryland training. Sessions range from two to four hours.

Swimmers are expected to be at 95% of the workouts.

By invitation only

At least 90% of meets a season and championships.

The main focus of this group is USA Sectional and National levels of competition.

These swimmers are training with the expectation of swimming at the collegiate level.
