Summer 2018 Swim Camps
There are a number of amazing swim camps over the summer for your Tigers to consider. Please check out the following camps and contact the Camp Directors for additional details. If you have questions about whether these camps are appropriate for your athlete, please ask your athlete's lead coach or contact Coach Keller.
The 2018 Indiana Swimming Age Group Development Memorial Camp will bring together swimmers and coaches from across the LSC for an overnight experience that will focus on the technical and mental aspects of racing in preparation to potentially represent the Indiana LSC in future competitions. The camp will be be held in Crawfordsville, IN and will utilize facilities at both Wabash College and Crawfordsville High School. The camp is limited to 60 female swimmers (May 25-26) and 60 male swimmers (May 26-27) between the ages of 11 and 14 on the first day of the camp with a minimum of one (1) Age Group State Qualifying Time for the age they will be on the first day of the camp. Registration opens at 12:01 AM EDT on Friday, April 13, and remain open and will close at 11:00 PM EDT Tuesday, May 1, or when the limit is reached for each camp, whichever comes first.
Indiana State University is excited to be holding the Sycamore Swim Camps during the month of June. Camps will focus on either Starts & Turns or Stroke Development. Swimmers from 8 to 18 years old are eligible for the Commuter Camps. Swimmers from 10 to 18 years old can participate in the Overnight Camps and discounts are available for teams sending 6 or more athletes to camp. Registration will remain open until the camps are full.
Summer swim clinics at Indiana University are again being offered this year by IU Head Coach Ray Looze and his staff. During the 5 days spent at the IU-Bloomington campus, each swimmer will undergo a technical analysis and strength test. Elements of the profile include stroke analysis and land strength tests. Results of the profile will be sent home with each swimmer. All swimmers will be grouped with appropriate age and ability levels through an assessment at the beginning of the camp. Each day will include 2 water workouts, a dryland workout, performance testing, educational lectures, and fun evening activities. Registration will remain open until the camps are full.
The Miami University Swimming Camp is a four day, overnight camp (with day camp option) that will help teach how to improve stroke effectiveness through the use of video capabilities and coach/counselor feedback. There will also be some training specific work and a "mini-meet" to end the camp. Campers will spend their days with two two-hour instructional periods in the Corwin M. Nixon natatorium (in long course meters) and in the instructional wet classroom adjacent to the pool. They will also participate in other activities outside of the water to help build team focus and understand personal nutrition. Registration is now open.
Purdue University is once again offering their Black & Gold Swim Camps this summer. Swimmers can either choose the Residential or Commuter camp option. The Technique and Training Camps are run by the PURDUE Swim Coaches with a theme of improvement of skills, and an emphasis on being positive. Additional instructors will include current swimmers, staff members, and some other college coaches. Registration is now open.
