Swimmer of the Meet

2017-2018 Short Course Season "Swimmer of the Meet" Program

For each meet in the short course season, there will be a swimmer of the meet named for each of the age groups of 8 & Under, 9-10 and 11-12. There will be one winner for each age group with boys and girls being scored together in their age group. The age of the swimmer for the meet will determine the group in which he/she will be scored. Swimmers will earn points based on their swims, with point values assigned for first time swims as well as best times. Swimmers can also earn points by moving up levels in the NAG time standards (those are the B, BB, A, AA, AAA,and AAAA time standards and can be found here). Below is a description of how swimmers at each age can earn points, as well as a list of the winners by meet. Winners will receive a "Swimmer of the Meet" cap that can be worn at practice and is only available to those swimmers who win the award at a meet.In the event of a tie, the swimmer with the largest single time drop per length of the swim from the meet will win the award. If no swimmers in the age group post a best time, the swimmer with the lowest average time add per length swum will win the award. Swimmers are eligible to win the award once per season unless everyone who competed in the meet in the age group has already won the award.
