Swimmers are encouraged to attend all team practices and meets. Swimmers are expected to attend at least three (3) regular season ISL swim meets. In order to participate in Champs, the swimmer must participate in at least 2 regular season swim meets AND swim in 4 events.
If your swimmer will miss a meet, it is ESSENTIAL you make a note in the online "swim meet" section. If it is after the deadline, you must notify the coach in writing. Their information can be found under the Coaches, Board & Contacts tab on the Home page.
The Heritage Park Swim Team is a 100% volunteer organization. It takes parental support to operate the team and conduct swim meets. Parent participation in the team's activities is a condition of membership, and each family will be required to accumulate a designated amount of points through volunteering. Jobs last approximately 2 hours and are easy and fun to do. We will do everything we can to honor your volunteer requests, however, during the season, we may occasionally need to ask you to change meets and/or job assignments. Families which do not sign up prior to season start will be assigned jobs by the Volunteer Coordinator.
**Each family is required to submit a $100 volunteer security deposit check. THIS IS NOT AN OPT-OUT FOR THE VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT. For the first volunteer shift missed, the deposit check will be cashed. For the second shift missed, your swimmer may be removed from the team. All checks remaining at the end of the season will be shredded.**
If you find that you cannot work a meet that you have agreed to work, it is your responsibility to go online and change your volunteer to another spot. If you are changing the week of the meet, you will need to find a replacement for your shift. Your replacement will receive credit for working your shift, and you will need to work another shift at another meet. Best practice is to trade shifts with that volunteer.
WHATEVER YOU WORK OUT, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU INFORM THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR OF YOUR PLANS IMMEDIATELY.
