The Park Paseo Northstars swam a strong meet against the Colony Red Hots on Saturday. Claire Fu had another record breaking day, swimming a 15:17 in the girls 7-8 butterfly to beat a 23 year old team record. She also broke her own record in the girls 7-8 breaststroke (new time 18:78) en route to three first place, ISL-qualifying finishes. Also finishing first and qualifying for ISL in all three races were Sarah Kuo, Sydney Lin and Tyler Lin.
The 7-8 year olds dominated the Red Hots, taking first place in both relays (Medley: Keira Patel, Claire Fu, Tyler Lin and Jalen Hsia; Freestyle: Lauren Kim, Samuel Groysman, Satwik Subbaraman and Erin Chen). The 7-8 Girls finished 1-3 in butterfly and backstroke, first in breaststroke, and 1-2 in freestyle. The 7-8 year old boys finished 1-3 in backstroke, 1-6 in breaststroke and first in freestyle.
The Northstars recorded 112 time improvements, 71 top three finishes and 52 ISL qualifying times. Seven swimmers finished in the top three in all of their events, earning at least one ISL qualifying time: Logan Carr, Paige Condy, Jalen Hsia, Danny Kim, Jonathan Kuo, Nyah Lin and Keira Patel. Nathan Fish finished in the top three in all of his events. Erin Chen (girls 7-8 butterfly) and Ranjani Raghavan (girls 5-6 backstroke) earned their first ISL qualifying times of the season.
The biggest time improvement of the day came from Satwik Bondelepati, who dropped 22.07 seconds in the boys 9-10 backstroke. Aodan Lee took off 17.32 seconds in the boys 5-6 freestyle and June Lee dropped 12.41 in the girls 9-10 breaststroke.
Swimmers earning three time improvements include Alice Chen, Benjamin Chen, Cayla Cruse, Chloe Dasilva, Deron Hsia, Jonathan Miller, Shinhye Park, Roy Tseng and Alexander Wilhelm.
