The Northstars Swim Team has volunteer opportunities for teen swimmers to help as swim coaches. We are looking for dedicated, reliable, and motivated teen swimmers ages 15 – 18 to help our coaches during practices.
To be a volunteer coach, swimmer must be a Northstars swimmers at least for one year.
Volunteers in this position can earn community service hours reported to their high schools.
Volunteer swim coaches are expected to pay the registration fee and their parents will be required to perform volunteer jobs.
Being a volunteer swim coach is a great way to serve as a role model for younger swimmers, demonstrate leadership in an organization, and may lead to paid job opportunities in the summers that follow.
Team is looking for 14 years of age who are interested in coaching. The TeamCaptains assist the coaches at practices and meets.
TeamCaptains are in charge of awarding the Heat Winner passes at our home meets, where swimmers who win heats get to pick a sweet treat at the snack bar. The captains will take turns standing behind the blocks to distribute the passes.
Lead the team cheer during the meets.
Help the coaches round up the 5-8 year olds for their relays
They will also be asked to roam around the pool deck and help whoever needs help.
Help in set-up/clean-up at the home meets
What do they get?
An official team polo like we give to the coaches - with their name and TeamCaptain written on it
They will be able to sit with the coaches at the designated coaches corner and participate at all coaches events
