What does drowning look like?

Rip tides (currents) are strong sea currents that are formed by strong winds pushing water toward the shore. The winds may come from a storm many miles away at sea. If a swimmer is caught in a rip current, it will be almost impossible to swim directly back to shore. Since rips are very narrow, the swimmer should swim PARALLEL to the shore to escape
