 WHITE Group

 

This is a competitive (swim meet participation is expected) group for young swimmers who know the fundamentals of all 4 competitive strokes.  Swimmers must be completely legal in Freestyle and Backstroke and have a strong working knowledge of Breaststroke and Butterfly.  Swimmers practice in a 25 yard or meter pool and should be comfortable completing 1-2 lengths at a time.  Main focus is on the development of proper stroke technique.

Age Range:  5-9 years old

Practices per Week:  3-4

GREY Group

 

This is a competitive (swim meet participation is expected) group for young swimmers who are technically proficient in all 4 competitive strokes--Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle.  Swimmers practice in a 25 yard or meter pool and should be comfortable completing 1-6 lengths at a time.  

Main focus is on the development of proper stroke, start and turn technique, however some aerobic training will be incorporated into the practice sessions in order to start building endurance.  A heavy focus will be placed on I.M. Training--which places emphasis on swimmers gaining endurance in all 4 competiitive strokes, not just freestyle and their prime stroke.

Age Range:  8-12 years old

ROYAL Group

 

This is a competitive (swim meet participation is expected) group for young swimmers who are technically proficient in all 4 competitive strokes--Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle.  Swimmers practice in a 25 yard or meter pool and should be comfortable completing a vigorous 10 minute swim.  Focus remains on the development of proper stroke, start and turn technique, however aerobic training will be incorporated into about 30% of the practice sessions.

A heavy focus will be placed on I.M. Training--which places emphasis on swimmers gaining endurance in all 4 competiitive strokes, not just freestyle and their prime stroke.

Swimmers in the Royal Group should be somewhat committed to the sport of swimming and ready to start incorporating more diversity into their events.

Age Range:  9-13 years old

Practices per Week:  4-5

NAVY Group

 

This is a competitive (swim meet participation is required) group for middle and high school swimmers who are both proficient and competitive in all 4 competitive strokes and the Individual Medley.  Swimmers practice in a 25 yard or meter pool and should be comfortable completing a vigorous 30 minute swim.  While proper stroke technique is still held as paramount, practices are at least 40-50% training based.  

When the entire group is not focusing on a specific drill, our coaching staff corrects swimmers individually--speaking to them one-on-one to correct a stroke issue while other swimmers continue training.

Swimmers in the Navy Group should be committed to the sport of swimming and be able to swim almost any event in any distance.  These swimmers are also exposed to the beginnings of personal goal setting, and specific race strategy and pacing.

Age Range:  11-14 years old

Practices per Week:  5-6 In Water; 1-2 Dry Land

SENIOR Group

 

This is a competitive (swim meet participation is required) group for swimmers who are both proficient and competitive in all 4 competitive strokes and the Individual Medley.  Swimmers practice in a 25 yard or meter pool and should be comfortable completing a vigorous 30 minute swim.  While proper stroke technique is still held as paramount, practices are at least 70% training based.  

When the entire group is not focusing on a specific drill, our coaching staff corrects swimmers individually--speaking to them one-on-one to correct a stroke issue while other swimmers continue training.

Swimmers in the Senior Group are exposed to the latest training techniques and should be able to handle intense training.  Senior Group swimmers are expected to be committed to the sport of swimming in order to achieve their highest potential in both Club (USA and S.A.L.) and High School Swimming.  

Senior swimmers meet regularly with coaches to discuss personal goals and coaches provide guidance in planning how to go about achieving said goals... i.e. Balancing academic, social and family obligations with training time in order to maximize success in all areas of the swimmers' life.

Age Range:  13-18 years old
