Fall / Winter Competitive Swimming Program
White, Grey, Royal: September - End February
Navy, Senior: September - End March
The Fall / Winter Season is LMAC's longest season, running 6-7 months of the year (depending on your training group). Swimmers are placed into different training groups based on age, ability and swimming experience. Training groups meet 4-7 times per week and the Junior and Senior groups also include dry land practice.
Lower Merion Aquatic Club competes in both the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and as a USA Swimming Team. The SAL is comprised of local aquatic clubs in suburban Philadelphia and LMAC competes in 7 dual meets between November and mid January against some of these clubs. All LMAC swimmers are expected to compete in our SAL Dual Meets.
USA Inivitational meets take place various weekends from late September through the end of March. LMAC generally schedules our attendance at these meets on weekends when we do not have conflicting SAL meet obligations. USA Swimming meets are not mandatory, but are VERY strongly encouraged for all swimmers in Gold and above.
The Fall/Winter season for White, Grey and Royal swimmers ends at the end of February--with an option for March training/competition for an added fee.
The Fall/Winter season for Navy and Senior swimmers ends with the following USA Meets: MA Junior Olympics (mid March), MA Regional Champs (weekend after JOs), and MA Senior Champs (last weekend in March).
