Mini/Developmental: Usually ages 5-8. Swimmer is expected to practice two – three days a week. Must be able to swim a complete lap of free (25 yards) and must be able to kick a complete lap of free kick (25 yards). Swimmers in this group will continue to learn the basics of competitive swimming throughout the season. Focus in this group learning to swim freestyle and backstroke and introductory knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly.
Usually 8’s and 10 and unders, some 12’s. Swimmer is expected to practice two – three days a week. The focus of this group will be to introduce all aspects of competitive swimming, including all four strokes, racing dives, and competitive turns. Swimmers in this group should be able to swim multiple lengths of freestyle and backstroke. Focus in this group is an end goal of being able to swim two lengths of breaststroke and butterfly legally.

Mostly ages 10 through 14 year of age. Swimmer is expected to practice three – four days a week. Swimmers in this group should be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool in all four competitive strokes and have some knowledge of flip turns and starts. Swimmers in this group should have previous swim team experience. As this group progresses more conditioning will be introduced throughout the season.
Performance set: 8 x 100’s free on 2:00 / 5 x 100’s IM on 2:30
12 years and up. Swimmer is expected to practice four – five times a week. . Swimmers in this group have several seasons of competitive swimming experience. Swimmers in this group must be able to do all four strokes legally for 100 yards. This group will focus on stroke technique and race strategy with the addition of consistent conditioning program.

Methacton Aquatic Club is a member of the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL). The Suburban Aquatic League has 22 member teams from Montgomery and Bucks Counties. These teams are organized into four divisions: North, Central, Northwest and Southwest. Methacton is in the Northwest Division.
As the season progresses, we offer several Dual meets, various Invitational meets, Diving meets, a "Division Championship" meet open to all swimmers and finally the season ending "League Championship" meet hosting the top/fastest 18 swimmers (plus 2 alternates)in each age group.
