Practice Information

Practice Groups:

Pre-Team:

Swimmer is expected to practice two to three days per week.   Must be able to swim a complete lap of freestyle, (25 yards) and must be able to kick a complete lap of freestyle kick (25 yards).    Swimmers in this group will continue to learn the basics of competitive swimming throughout the season.  Focus in this group learning to swim freestyle and backstroke and introductory knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly. 

White Group:

Swimmer is expected to practice two to three days per week.    The focus of this group will be to introduce all aspects of competitive swimming, including all four strokes, racing dives, and competitive turns.  Swimmers in this group should be able to swim multiple lengths of freestyle and backstroke.  Focus in this group is an end goal of being able to swim two lengths of breaststroke and butterfly legally. 

Performance set: 10 x 50’s free on 1:40

Green Group:

Swimmer is expected to practice three to four days per week.  Swimmers in this group should be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool in all four competitive strokes and have some knowledge of flip turns and starts.  Swimmers in this group should have previous swim team experience.  As this group progresses more conditioning will be introduced throughout the season. 

Performance set: 8 x 100’s free on 2:00 / 5 x 100’s IM on 2:30

Gold Group:

Swimmer is expected to practice four to five times per week.  Swimmers in this group have several seasons of competitive swimming experience.  Swimmers in this group must be able to do all four strokes legally for 100 yards.  This group will focus on stroke technique and race strategy with the addition of consistent conditioning program.
