Group Descriptions

Senior 1
This group is for our top-level swimmers who are committed to the sport. Swimmers must be physically and mentally ready to handle the intense training sessions. In order to benefit from the program and reach their fullest potential, these athletes are expected to attend 6-8 practices per week, including a shave meet in December and championship meet in March. Additional dryland workouts are included and athletes are expected to attend.

Senior 2
This group is for dedicated middle/high school age swimmers. Practice sessions will be geared towards increased aerobic conditioning in all four strokes as well as concentration on proper technique. These swimmers should attend 5-6 practices per week, including a shave meet in December and championship meet in March. Additional dryland workouts are included and athletes are expected to attend.

Senior 3
This group is for dedicated middle/high school age swimmers. Practice sessions will be geared towards increased aerobic conditioning in all four strokes as well as concentration on proper technique. These swimmers should attend 4-5 practices per week, including a shave meet in December and championship meet in March. Additional dryland workouts are included and athletes are expected to attend.

 



Age Group 1
This group is for our top 10-12 year old swimmers who are dedicated to participation in USA Swimming and scoring at MA Junior Olympics. Practice sessions will focus on specific skill development in all four strokes as well as increasing their aerobic base. These swimmers should attend 4-5 practices per week and involvement in USS meets throughout the season is expected.

Age Group 2
This group is for the developing 9-11 year old swimmer. The primary focus is on improving proper stroke technique. An increase in aerobic base will also be an important aspect of development at this level. These swimmers should attend 4-5 practices per week. Participation in local meets is expected and swimmers are expected to compete in  selected USS meets.

Age Group 3
This group is for swimmers 9-11 years old. The primary focus is on proper stroke technique. Swimmers will also be introduced to aerobic training. These swimmers are expected to attend 3-4 practices per week. Participation in local meets is expected and swimmers are encouraged to participate in selected USS meets.

Age Group 4
This group is for swimmers who are 9 years old and older. In this group the swimmers will continue to work on Stroke technique while preparing to swim 50s and 100s. These swimmers (at the very least) should participate in all local swim meets.

 



Super Squad 1
These swimmers should be able to complete 25 meters of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. The main goal of this group is to improve efficiency in all four strokes while increasing their endurance in practice. Swimmers will also be working towards completing a 100 IM in competition. Swimmers will compete in local meets and are encouraged to participate in selected USS meets.

Super Squad 2
This group is for beginner swimmers. Swimmers should be able to complete 25 meters of freestyle and backstroke. The main goal of this group is to improve efficiency in freestyle and backstroke while developing proper technique in breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers will compete in local meets and are encouraged to participate in at least 1 USS meet.
