Coaching Staff

Director of Competitive Aquatics: Kristina Halner

Swimming has been a passion of my mine since the time I was 7 years old. Being around the water has been one of the most consistent things in my life. I grew up swimming at Lenape Valley Swim Club. From there I went on to swim for the Central Bucks Swim Team, Archbishop Wood Swim Team, and then I ended my swimming career at Bloomsburg University. I still continue to swim today with the Central Bucks Masters Swim Team at the YMCA.

Working with children in a pool started when I was fourteen. I taught swimming lessons the first summer I was able to at Lenape Valley. My coaching career started in 2013 at the Doylestown YMCA. After graduating from Bloomsburg, I was offered the Head Coaching position for the boys SWAC team. Along with coaching at SWAC, I am also the Head Swim Coach for Fanny Chapman Memorial Pool.

I possess all of the YMCA’s core values. I am a caring, honest, respectful, and responsible person. I am seen as a leader in the classroom and on the pool deck. I look forward to get to know the swimmers, assistant coaches and parents to bring consistence and the strong heritage that the THY swim team has created.

6/2/68 - 7/17/15

Our beloved coach, Tracey Edwards passed into eternal life on Friday, July 17, 2015, due to complications from metastatic breast cancer. A fighter to the end, our "Sunshine" was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt with an acutely compassionate character. Having beaten cancer previously within the last three years, Tracey's legacy will be one of courage, determination and beauty - both inside and out. Tracey's passions were teaching, coaching, and sharing her love of life with Dominic, Meredith, her extended family, and her many treasured friends and colleagues. A reading specialist in the West Windsor-Plainsboro (NJ) school district, Tracey had taught since 1992 at Upper Elementary, Village and Millstone River schools. A 1986 graduate of Pennsbury High School, where she was a proud swim team captain, Tracey swam in NCAA Division 1 competitions while earning a degree in political science from Furman (SC) University in 1990. She subsequently acquired a master's in education from the University of Pennsylvania to complement her career goals as an inspiration to young learners. Tracey treasured her West Windsor-Plainsboro colleagues, drawing strength from her many impactful professional relationships in the district. Tracey's love of swimming will live on in her twins, Dominic and Meredith, whom she coached with enormous pride for the last eight years at the Spirit and Tri-Hampton YMCA teams.
