Assistant Coach - April Ferrandino

April received her Bachelor’s degree in Music and Communications from West Chester University in 2005, and her teacher’s certification from Kutztown in 2008.  Before college, April swam for the Quakertown Summer Swim Team, the Quakertown High School Varsity team, and the Upper Bucks YMCA swim team where she was a district swimmer in the 500 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.  While attending West Chester, April played water polo for the women’s club team.

April has been involved with coaching swimmers and teaching children to swim since high school when she taught at the Upper Bucks YMCA.  She coached the “Yes I Can” program at Rodale Aquatics Center at Cedar Crest College, and was the head coach of the Alburtis Shepherd Hills Summer Swim team for three years.  She also managed and coached for the Princeton Family YMCA Pirates Swim Team.  Most recently, April served two years with Lehigh Valley Aquatics as the Assistant Head Coach.  She is a Level II ASCA coach and a member of USA Swimming.

April continues to enjoy swimming to stay in shape, and can sometimes be seen swimming laps in the morning right here at the Y.
