Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy

The new MINOR ATHLETE ABUSE PREVENTION POLICY, mandated by Congress to the US Center for Safe Sport, must be implemented by all sports with a National Governing Body, which in this case is USA Swimming and all its member clubs.

MAAPP must be reviewed and agreed in writing, annually by all adult athletes, parents, coaches and other non-athlete members of USA Swimming.

Acknowledgement and written agreement of the policy is part of the swimmer registration process.

Swimmers 18 and older must complete the Athlete Protection Training annually in order to participate in any USA Swimming sanctioned meet.  To take the free training, click on the link below and login to the USA Swimming LEARN platform with the athlete’s name and birthdate.
