Eagle Swim School - Class Descriptions
For non-swimming beginners, 4 years and older. A major emphasis for this group is to make the new swimmers feel more relaxed in the water. Basic skills taught are: breath control (bubbles and bobbing), floating, kicking, and picking up submerged items.
For children 5 years and older. Children should be comfortable in the water by being able to perform 10 bobs (submerge their whole head underwater and exhale) and float unassisted on their front and backs. Freestyle and backstroke and self rescue are taught at this level. Children must be able to rotary breath (to the side) before advancing to the next level.
For children 6 years and older. Children should be comfortable in the water by being able to perform 10 bobs (submerge their whole head underwater and exhale), float unassisted on their front and back. Freestyle, backstroke and self rescue are refined at this level. Children must be able to display proficiency in rotary breathing (to the side)in freestyle, a balanced unassisted backstroke, along with an understanding of breaststroke before advancing to the next level.
For children 6 years and older. Children in this level continue to improve their freestyle and backstroke. Additional skills taught are breaststroke, butterfly, diving and picking up items in deep water. Children must be able to perform proper breaststroke technique and the butterfly kick before consideration for the swim clinic.

Semi-Private Lessons - Semi-Private lessons are for two (2) swimmers to be seen at the same time. These lessons are best suited for family members or friends of approximately the same age and swimming ability. If interested, please contact Coach O at firstname.lastname@example.org or 443-465-7010.
