Practice Groups

 

Movement up or down in practice groups is based on open spots, swimmer's skills, endurance, ability to listen/follow instructions, commitment, and coaches discretion.

Description

Number of  practice days and hours

Equipment Required

Seniors

12 and Older athletes, by Coach invitation only.

Group focus is on racing capacity, includes intense training, sprint and distance development, race strategy, extreme concentration.

5 practices per week

4 minimum required

Pool time 1.5 - 2 hours per practice

Dry land 45 minutes twice a week minimum

Senior Prep

10 and Older athletes, by Coach invitation only

This group is for swimmers whose skill/endurance level is between Juniors and Seniors. This allows for better practices for these swimmers while getting them prepared for the more intense training of the senior level group. Swimmers under the age of 12 who are invited to this group should expect to be in this group 2 years before they will be ready to advance.

4 practices per week

Minimum of 3 practices per week

1 practice/week with Senior level

Pool time 1.5 - 2 hours per practice

Swimmers 10 and up - or by Coach Invitation.

Committed and ready to train at a more intense level. Admission to this group is based on the individual's level of responsibility, maturity, stroke technique and ability to keep up with the drill sets and other swimmers in this group.

Minimum of 3 practices per week

Pool time 1.5 - 2 hours per practice

Minis
