Swim School


Swim School is held at Oakland University
The OLY Swim School is designed to help youngsters from the ages of 5-9 years old with their development in water awareness and the four competitive swim strokes. Children interested in our swim school should be comfortable in the water and able to float on their back and stomach and be comfortable going under water as well.


Session:  Swim School is monthly. Once registered, your child will be billed for each month unless you notify the program 30 days in advance of cancelation. Payment for each months fees are all done through ACH automatic payment system.



Class Options 

Monday/Wednesday     6:00 - 6:30pm          Level 1&2

Monday/Wednesday     6:30 - 7:00pm.         Level 3&4

Tuesday/Thursday       6:00 - 6:30pm.         Level 1&2

Tuesday/Thursday       6:30 - 7:00pm.         Level 3&4


Monthly fees are $75/month.

All swimmers add $45 for Annual Registration fee. (one time fee/yearly)

Just A Few Reminders For The Swim School Program
  The OLY Swim School is for swimmers age 5 to 9 years old. (can be flexible)

The 1st day of each session will be an evaluation day for new swimmers.  The coaches will make sure the swimmers are in the correct group.

Please try to be on deck and ready at least 10 minutes prior to your lesson time.

  The swimmers must be comfortable in deep water and should be able to float on back or stomach.

All efforts will be made to contact parents if practice is canceled for any reason.

Level 1 - Develop a general comfort level in the water
              Basic floating on stomach and back
              Proper kicking for freestyle and backstroke
              Introduction of freestyle and backstroke arm pull

Level 2 - Complete understanding of freestyle and backstroke
              Breathing patterns for freestyle and backstroke
              Introduction of breaststroke
              Introduction of turns for freestyle and backstroke

Level 3 - Complete understanding of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke
              Introduction of breaststroke turn and pullout
              Introduction of competitive start
              Introduction of butterfly
              Introduction of butterfly turn

Level 4 - Understanding and general mastery of all four competitive strokes
              Understanding of all four competitive turns and streamlines
              Understanding and general mastery of competitive starts
              Complete understanding of butterfly
