Melissa has been with the Tiger Sharks since October of 2004. She grew up in Minnesota as a competitive swimmer. Before coming to the Tiger Sharks, she coached in Minnesota, Iowa and California. She is a level 2 ASCA certified coach. Melissa and her husband, Brent, have 3 children (Kira, Ashlyn and Blake) and live in New Richmond. She is also a teacher in the New Richmond School District. When she is not coaching, she loves to swim, scrapbook and travel.
Sam has been with the Tiger Sharks since July 2016. She has always loved being in the water every chance she could get when younger. She did not start swimming competitively until she was 13 years old, but once she did, Sam fell in love with the sport. She competed at the state level both through club and high school, as well as, Junior Nationals for two years. Sam ended up attending the University of Green Bay for two years in order to swim for them, but transferred to University of Milwaukee after she married in 2015. Her husband and her moved up to Baldwin, WI to be closer to family. Sam currently attends the University of River Falls for a degree in Broad Field Social Studies education. Over the years Sam has helped her coaches with stroke clinics, so she has worked with young swimmers before, but this is her first year being considered an assistant coach. When Sam is not on the pool deck she loves to be with family, help on the farm, or relax with her husband and dog, Champ. As a coach, her goal is to help the swimmers be the best that they can be, both in and out of the pool, while helping them find their love for the sport.
