Senior Select

The Riptide Senior Select Team is the transition group from Riptide's top age group and senior swimming into a high level training group with the ultimate goal of advancement to Senior Elite. Entry to this team is at the discretion of the Program Directors and is based upon meet performance, commitment, practice effort, and coach recommendation. The focus for this training group is on endurance and racing with constant improvement in technical skills. Year-round training and consistent attendance are required. Two+ hour practices are offered 6x/week and include extensive dryland conditioning. Swimmers are expected to attend 5-6 practices per week and attend the season ending championship meet(s). All swimmers are USA Swimming registered athletes. The age range for this team is 13-18 years old.

Equipment needed: Required - Long blade fins, kick board, pull buoy, snorkel, paddles, training suits, goggles, cap, dryland clothing running shoes, water bottle (no glass), and mesh bag. Tempo Trainers preferred but not required. Riptide Team Gear. (Riptide suit, Riptide cap and Riptide team t-shirt)



Dear Riptide Families and Swimmers,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Riptide Senior Select training group for the 2017-18 short course season!!

On Wednesday, September 6th there will be a “swimmers only” All Team Meeting from 5:30 to approximately 6:30pm.  Swimmers should report to the upstairs bleachers for a short full team meeting followed by a brief training group meeting.

The practice season begins on Thursday, September 7th, 2017.  Please refer to the online practice calendar for any adjustments but the general practice schedule is listed below:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays: 3:15-5:15 PM
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 3:15-5:30 PM
  • Friday: 3:15-5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 7-9:30 AM*

*Note: The first Saturday practice on September 9th will be from 8-9:30 AM. Additionally, plan for dry land beginning on Monday, September 11th, 2017.

In addition, please note the equipment list required for this group:

  • Long blade fins
  • Kickboard
  • Pull-Buoy
  • Tennis Shoes (for the pool)
  • Hand Paddles
  • Snorkels
  • Tempo Trainers (recommended)
  • Dry land attire
  • Water Bottle (no glass)
  • Mesh Bag
  • Riptide Team Gear
