Team Structure

HYB is a year round competitive swim program that encourages each family and individual team member to fulfill his or her potential in a family-oriented, small team environment.

We are a USA Swimming competitive swim club, part of the NY Metropolitan Swimming organization, and part of the YMCA Swimming Organization. Our swimming season begins on September and ends in August. The meets we attend are competitive and consist of both Metro Meets and YMCA meets (which are USA Swimming sanctioned).

The team swims at the Huntington YMCA and has access to two 25 yard pools. During the summer months the team also has access to the Dix Hills pool in the mornings and the YMCA pool in the evenings.

The team is a program of the YMCA and is under the direct supervision of the Aquatic Director.  The team is composed of age group swimmers:  8 and Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 years old.  The younger swimmers have both a coach and an assistant coach while the older swimmers have either one or two coaches.  All coaches are United States Swimming (USS) certified and hold certifications in Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED.
