Please do NOT register for the program until your swimmer has been evaluated by the coaching staff and you have been placed in the appropriate training group. Registrations without an evaluation will NOT be approved.
Open to all new and returning swimmers 13 and over, and select younger swimmers that have achieved Zone or Sectionals times (placement at the discretion of the coaching staff). Senior swimmers are expected to participate in six (6) practices per week (Monday - Saturday) for 120 minutes. In addition, the Senior Group will have dryland twice (3x) per week for thirty (30) minutes. The Senior Group focuses on advanced stroke mechanics and technique refinement, while targeting aerobic and anaerobic energy systems through varied training methods that prepare swimmers to compete in local, regional, and national championship level meets. All Senior swimmers are strongly encouraged to compete in at least six (6) meets per short course season, and MUST swim ALL the necessary events to achieve and IMR and IMX score during the short course season (see website for complete details).
Equipment Required: mesh equipment bag, kick board, pull buoy, paddles, fins, snorkel. Please utilize the Team Locker Room located on the Sachem webpage when purchasing equipment. If you are unsure about sizing or specific equipment please email Coach Ely.
