Covid-19: Safety Protocols

As the team gets back into the pool during the Covid-19 Pandemic, there are many Safety Protocols families, swimmers and the team need to follow.

  1. Families:
    • Evaluate swimmer's health before attending practices

        2. If Yes, do not come to practice
      • Recent contacts
        1. Within the past 14 days, have you been in close physical contact (6 feet or closer for at least 10 minutes) with a person who is known to have laboratory-confirmed positive COVID-19 test or with anyone who has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19?
        2. If Yes, do not come to practice
      • Pending Covid Test
        1. Have you tested positive through a diagnostic test for COVID-19 in the past 10 days or are you waiting for results from a COVID-19 test?

      • Recent Travel to NYS travel advisory list
        1. Have you traveled internationally or from a state with widespread community transmission of COVID-19 per the New York State Travel Advisory in the past 14 days? Click here for a list of states with widespread community transmission:
        2. If Yes, do not come to practice
      • Do NOT send sick swimmers to practice
    • Concerns: contact Coach Billy ([email protected]) or President Jennifer Horgan ([email protected])
  2. Team at Facilities:
    • Incoming Health Questionnaire
    • Temperature Check
    • Everyone Masks on when not in pool
    • No locker rooms and/or changing in facilities
    • Only swimmers allowed in facilities
  3. Team at Practice:
    • Coaches with Masks
    • Swimmers with masks on when not in pool
    • Swimmers assigned to practices times (at WOW) or days (at GG)
    • Social Distancing in lanes
    • Maintain lane pods (same swimmers in the lane at each practice)
    • Minimize/Remove crossover of cohorts at each pool location
      • Gold's Gym:
        • Mondays and Thursdays Cohort
        • Wednesdays and Fridays Cohort
        • Swimmers from same family must be in same cohort
      • WOW:
        • Mondays and Wednesdays:
          • Swimmers to practice with their designated Cohort
          • Swimmers are assigned to either Early or Late Cohort
        • Fridays:
          • Due to low attendance, Fridays practiced merged to 1 hour session
          • Try to keep early/late cohorts separated by lanes as long as swimmers can maintain social distancing
