Becoming A Member of United States Swimming

United States Swimming, Inc. a
Colorado corporation, is the National Governing Body for swimming in the United States and is referred to as USA Swimming.  USA Swimming is responsible for the conduct and administration of swimming in the United States and is affiliated with the Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA), the international federation for aquatics, through United States Aquatic Sports, Inc. (USAS).  As a member National Governing Body (NGB) of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), USA Swimming prepares rules and regulations for our sport and for developing our Olympic Teams.

The
United States is divided up into 59 Local Swimming Committees (LSC’s) that govern the sport on the local level.

YMCA Hub Fins team is a member of our LSC, Mississippi Swimming, Inc.  We conduct LSC meetings twice annually and discuss rules, issues, and competitions, including our LSC Championship swim meets.

All members competing in swimming competitions must be a member of USA Swimming.  The annual dues for that membership is $82 per swimmer per year.  We begin renewing past members and registering new members during the months of September and October of each year.  New members register at the time they join the team.  You can pick up a registration form from a coach at practice.  Or email us and we can send you the form via email.
