KIRBY BEIERLE Head Coach, ASCA Level II
Kirby began swimming at age 6 and went on to swim collegiately for Moorhead State University. In 2004, Kirby became an assistant coach and in 2009 Head Coach for MYST. In 2007 and 2008 she was voted Age Group Coach of the Year for the state of Montana. In 2017 Kirby was named National YMCA Coach of the Year. She has been part of the Montana Zones coaching staff and served twice as Head Coach. Since 2014 Kirby has held the position of Coach Representative for Montana Swimming. Kirby is married to Dustin and they welcomed their daughter, Mylo in January of 2015.
SHELBY MIDBOE Assistant Coach, ASCA Level II
Shelby served as an assistant and head coach of the Sockeye Swim League in Alaska before moving back to Missoula. Shelby currently coaches the Makos bright and early on Monday and Wednesday mornings. She is in her eleventh year of coaching with MYST. Shelby has her Masters degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders, teaches at Target Range School and has a son, Jorgen, who acts as a MYST team Captain.
BRADY BAUGHMAN Assistant Coach
Coach Brady swam for MYST throughout his childhood. He acted as a team captain during his senior year of high school in 2012. Brady went onto to study at the U of M. In the spring of 2015 Brady had the opportunity to study aboard in Europe before graduating with a degree in K-12 French education in the Spring of 2016.Towards the end of his college years Coach Brady found his love for swimming again and starting practicing with the Missoula Masters Community. In the winter of 2017 Brady got his start in his swim coaching career when he started assistant coaching for the MCPS High School Program. He can also be found on the pool deck during the Masters practices at the YMCA. Brady started coaching for MYST in the summer of 2019.
ANA GRIGSBY- Assistant Coach-
Ana is from Missoula Mt and is a MYST Alumni. Ana has been every single type of
swimmer out there. She has been the quiet one in the back, she has been the goofy one cracking jokes, and she has been the Captain that leads by example every day. When Ana is not at the pool you can find her up at Snobowl on the zip line course. We are so excited to have Ana back with MYST and even more excited to see her build great relationships with this new batch of MYST kids.
SOPHIA REICHELT- Assistant Coach-
Sophia joined the Big Sandy Swim team in 2007 and swam until 2014, after a four year hiatus she rejoined in 2018 for her senior year. She is very passionate about education and working as a team and looks forward to the environment the YMCA and MYST have to offer. Sophia is currently finishing her degree in English and Spanish education at the University of Montana, and works as a line cook at the steakhouse, 1889! Coach Sophia will be coaching Pre comp and the Angels with me as well as coaching on Friday nights.
