Kinston Swim Groups

Several swim groups are available to provide swimming instruction appropriate to the child’s current skill level. Please review our group offerings below.  Coaches reserve the right to move swimmers up or down levels as needed.  If it is determined a swimmer should change levels, staff will discuss with parents prior to the move.

WHITE GROUP

This is a learn-to-swim program with in-water instruction for new swimmers. This group will cover the basics of floating, body position, kicking, and freestyle and backstroke swimming. This is a non-competitive group. However, swimmers are able to compete at swim meets once fundamental skills are mastered.

GREEN GROUP

This is a beginner to intermediate group for children who know how to swim, but need further technical training. All four strokes will be performed with a primary focus on improving technique and mastering new skills, such as flip turns and dives. This is a semi-competitive group for swimmers. Practices are held 2 times per week. Competition offerings are based on the swimmers skills and abilities according to ECA and USA Swimming regulations.

This is an advanced group for children looking for higher competition, or more challenging workouts. Time is split between dry land training and in the water training. This group is for swimmers looking to prepare for high school, or progress to the college level and get in great physical shape. Competition offerings are based on the swimmers skills and abilities according to ECA and USA Swimming regulations.
