 TYDE National Track

Track Goals & Purpose

The National Track is our most advanced swim team experience, designed to prepare swimmers for success at the highest championship level for each age group. Practice & competition programs are designed to get the most out of swimmers, at each level, while taking into account the physical and cognitive development of athletes as they grow.

Regular attendance at practices and meets is essential in the National Track.  Each group has its own minimum attendance standards that must be maintained to remain on the roster.  Group standards may adjust each season to fit the progress of each group.

Criteria also considered when moving swimmers into the National Track include how well a swimmer uses the YMCA Core Values within the team environment.  Examples include (but are not limited to) encouraging teammates, maintaining a positive attitude, completing sets to each swimmers honest ability, keeping attention on the coach or practice sets and being on time and prepared for the start of practice.
