Kim Martin

Lead Site Coach

Coach Kim grew up in Miami, Florida and graduated from high school with Honors and received the United States Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award in 2012. Kim’s passion and dedication for Aquatics started in High School. Kim was in her High School competitive swim team, water polo team and soccer team. Kim has years of experience in being a lifeguard, swim instructor, swim coach, pool manager and Outdoor Pool Supervisor.

Coach Kim believes that all of her swimmers can reach for the stars in all areas of life, whether that be in, out, or around the pool. Kim became the Lead Site Coach at Stokes YMCA in 2021. Kim and her husband Eric reside in King with their two children, Athen and Layla.

Coach Lucia found her love for the water when she was 11 as a volunteer assistant swim lesson teacher. Throughout high school and college, she helped people of all ages learn to swim by teaching swim lessons at the YMCA.

After graduating from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Health services management, she returned home to continue teaching swim lessons and to assist with running the swim lesson program and helped coach TYDE at the Jerry Long Y. In 2018, she joined the Kernersville Y as Associate Aquatics Director and was promoted to Aquatics Director of the Stokes Family YMCA in 2021.

Coach Lucia has always had a love for teaching children new skills and helping them achieve their goals. After so many years of doing this through swim lessons she took the next step and became a swim lesson coordinator and swim team coach so she could have a bigger reach to the lives she could impact.
