TYDE SAFE PRACTICE PROCEDURES

TYDE SAFE PRACTICE PROCEDURES:
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

We’re keeping it safe with new practice procedures including physical-distancing and before, during, and after-practice protocols.

CLICK HERE to view Zoom session recordings to see how we implemented new processes and protocols for practices this summer.

All swimmers must complete a TYDE Covid-19 Waiver Agreement before attending a practice.  See Agreement copy below and click HERE to submit an electronic acknowledgement/signature.  TYDE reserves the right to turn away any swimmer from a practice if they have not completed a waiver and, or if, a swimmer has a temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Please email [email protected] with any questions.

PRACTICE PROTOCOLS:

In keeping with NC and YMCA guidelines, TYDE has adopted new practice processes to ensure athlete, coach, and lifeguard safety.  These steps are based on available facilities, coaches, and local, state, federal, Y-USA and USA Swimming guidelines.

  • Prior to participating in a practice, a TYDE Covid-19 Waiver Agreement must be completed for each swimmer (see below).

  • Swimmers must wear a mask upon arrival to and departure from the pool.  Swimmers must come dressed in a swimsuit, wearing flip flops and cover-ups and bring a filled water bottle, towel, goggles, and swim cap.  Small drawstring bags will be permitted.  Do not bring swim back packs or swim equipment/bags without coach instruction.  There will be no locker room or shower access.
We would also like to remind everyone about USA Swimming's Deck Change rule:

Deck Change - Changing, in whole or in part, into or out of a swimsuit (excluding a drag suit) in an area other than a permanent or temporary locker room, bathroom, changing room or other space designated for changing purposes while at a practice, competition, or other pool-related activity is prohibited.  This includes changing in the parking lot.

  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of your practice time.  Wait to line up, with mask on, six feet apart.  Swimmers will line up outside the pool door/building.  Temperature will be checked prior to being permitted entry to the pool deck.  Swimmers must sanitize their hands with provided hand sanitizer once entry is permitted.

  • 6’ physical distancing in and out of the water will be observed at all times.  Once entry to pool deck is granted, each swimmer will proceed to pre-assigned lanes and follow the instruction of the on-deck coach.  All personal items will be placed in individual bins at the end of each lane.  Please watch Coach Bob’s TYDE Talk: Return to the Pool video to see how the process was implemented this summer.

  • No parents or spectators will be allowed on deck.  Parents may watch practices through pool windows while observing safe physical distancing.
