Freetown-Lakeville Warriors Swimming (FLWS)

Expectations for all Training Groups:

  • Be punctual to all practices and on deck and ready for your practice 5-10 minutes early
  • Be a positive teammate with a strong work ethic
  • HAVE FUN!

     

Prep Team

The Prep Team will focus on teaching and reinforcing swimming etiquette on the deck and in the pool.  Proper technique will begin to take shape and be encouraged.  This group will begin learning USA meet format and rules.  To progress to the next group these skill sets need to be shown consistently and the swimmer must be willing to commit to a USA swim meet.

Weekly Practice Commitment: Qty 2 - 45 Minute Practices
Commitment: Ten (10) Week Session (Multiple sessions scheduled throughout the year)
Participation in Dry 
Land (Strength and Conditional; Yoga): No

Age Group 1

Age Group 1 will continue to learn appropriate swimming etiquette on the deck and in the pool.  Proper technique will be taught and encouraged.  They will begin to learn more about goal setting and why we do it.  This group will continue to learn USA meet format and rules, they are expected to participate in at least 1 USA meet.  To progress to the next group these skill sets need to be shown consistently and the swimmer must be achieving “BB” & “B” time standards.

Weekly Practice Commitment: Qty 2/3 - 60 Minute Practices
Participation in Dry Land (Strength and Conditional; Yoga): Yes

Age Group 2

Age Group 2 will already know appropriate swimming etiquette on the deck and in the pool.  Proper technique will be constantly reinforced and encouraged.  The swimmers will understand how to use the pace clock and the importance of splits.  They will continue to learn about goal setting and why we do it.  This group will continue to learn USA meet format and rules, they are expected to participate in several USA meets.  To progress to the next group these skill sets need to be shown consistently and the swimmer must be achieving “A”, “BB” & “B” time standards.

Weekly Practice Commitment: Qty 3/4 - 90 Minute Practices
Participation in Dry Land (Strength and Conditional; Yoga): Yes

Age Group 3

Age Group 3 will already know appropriate swimming etiquette on the deck and in the pool.  Proper technique will be constantly reinforced and encouraged.  The swimmers will understand how to use the pace clock and the importance of splits.  They will continue to learn about goal setting and why we do it.  This group will continue to learn USA meet format and rules, they are expected to participate in several USA meets.
