Senior Group

Seniors

This group is for swimmers 13 years old and older who have decided to dedicate themselves to swimming; as the senior practices are rigorous, new swimmers must take a swim test administered to determine if they are ready for this training regimen. The goal of this group is to achieve success on the national level.

During the school year, practices are offered every weekday afternoon along with several before school and Saturday morning practices. During the summer, much of our training is spent on Long Course (50 meter pool) and we increase the length of morning practices along with adding weight sessions. Swimmers and families should realize that success at this level requires dedication and discipline.

Workouts

  • 4 – 6 pm offered 5 days a week
  • Saturdays, TBA
  • Morning practices, TBA, usually Tuesday and Thursday
  • An 80% attendance is highly recommended
  • weights program

 Equipment (Coach will provide more specific information)

  • Water bottle for each practice
  • Appropriate practice suit
  • Kickboard
  • Training Fins (short, soft rubber)
  • Pull buoy
  • Finis Snorkle
  • Gear for dry-land activities

Requirements to enter group

  • Previous experience on a swim team
  • Demonstrated ability on a senior group "entry" swim test
  • Coaches discretion
