Every swimmer who wants to swim on a competitive team can find a home with the Dallas Mustangs! Our open and flexible schedules allow a number of options for swimmers. At both our Loos and HP locations we offer workouts every day for our Gold, Silver, and Bronze groups. At White Rock Pool, we offer Silver and Bronze workouts. Swimmers aren't required to pick specific practice days.
This is particularly important for younger swimmers who may be involved in other activities such as scouting, music, soccer, birthday parties, etc. We don't want our program to prevent a swimmer's participation in other important activities.

Pre-Competition - Learn to Swim- (offered at Loos Natatorium and HP Pool)
This group is designed for swimmers who are not quite ready for competitive swimming. This is more of a private lesson program designed to prepare the swimmer for competitive swimming and workouts with the team. Typically pre-competition swimmers move into one of our Bronze Group programs prior to competing in a swim meet.
Bronze (offered at Loos Natatorium, HP and White Rock Pools)
This is a beginner program designed to help young athletes get a solid base for competitive swimming. The emphasis in the BRONZE group is on stroke technique, training skills, and how to compete in a race. These swimmers typically workout 2 or 3 nights per week for 1 hour.
Silver (offered at Loos Natatorium, HP and White Rock Pools)
This group is designed for swimmers who are more advanced in their skills and endurance. The minimum requirements for this group are three "10 & under BB" times. The emphasis in the SILVER group is the development of a more versatile swimmer who is skilled in all strokes at various distances. Time is spent on stroke, start and turn techniques, race strategy, and the endurance of training. These swimmers typically workout 3 to 5 nights per week and selected Saturday mornings for up to 1 1/2 hours.
Gold (offered at Loos Natatorium and HP Pool)
This group is for the more serious swimmers who want to successfully compete in high school, regional, or state level competition. The minimum requirements for this group are three "13-14 BB" times and be age 13 or older. The emphasis in the GOLD group is a total swim training program, including, but not limited to, dry land training, nutrition, physiology, psychology, and fine tuning stroke techniques. These swimmers typically workout 4 to 5 nights per week and on scheduled Saturday mornings for up to 2 hours.
National (offered at Loos Natatorium)
This group is made up of the elite swimmers of the club. The emphasis is much the same as the gold, but more intense and with more yardage. The goal of the swimmers in this group should be to compete on a National level. These swimmers typically workout three mornings and five nights during the week, and selected Saturday mornings for up to 2 1/2 hours.
