These four core values of the YMCA can be reflected in everyday life, both in and out of the pool. I challenge the Gold group members to enhance their lives by focusing on these values in their lives. While some of these things may be done "independently" from swimming, they can certainly help our young athletes achieve their goals in the pool.

The Gold Group CoRe challenges are weekly challenges that encourage our members to engage in healthy activities that will help their swimming improve. It also encourages them to go beyond sport and see how these challenges can affect their lives as well. We won't be swimming competitively forever, so let's learn to apply these goals to everyday life.

WE HAVE UPDATED THE PROGRAM TO MAKE IT BETTER ACCOMODATING TO THOSE WITH BUSY SCHEDULES!

This program is completely optional. Each week a member's goal is to earn sixteen points by completing challenges. They get to pick three of the four categories to earn these points, and can do all four for "extra credit." At the end of each CoRe Segment, any members who have averaged 15 points per week will receive a special recognition award.

To participate, athletes can print the weekly CoRe challenge sheet located at the bottom of this page. Ideally, athletes should only do one challenge a week and not try to work ahead. But that doesn't mean athletes are prohibited from performing the actions in future weeks challenges! 

By the last day of the challenge week (Sunday of that week), athletes should scan in the completed sheet (or take a clear picture). Email them to Coach Matt at mattr@amymca.org to get credit.
