Welcome to the Cincinnati Aquatic Club (CAC), a USA competitive swim team. Founded in 1983, CAC offers year-round training and competition for athletes of all ages and ability. Beginners, national-level swimmers, and everyone in between are part of the CAC “Seahawk” program.
For nearly 30 years, CAC's home has been the Cincinnati Country Day School. Recently, we have added training at the University of Cincinnati's 50-meter indoor facility and in the summer-time, the eight-lane Indian Hill Club, just one mile from CCDS. This gives CAC the space to provide premiere instruction and the best training in Cincinnati. It also gives us room to grow, making it a very exciting time at CAC.
Our coaching staff is led by Benson Spurling. Coach Spurling has been the head of the program since 1989, making him one of the most-tenured head coaches in Ohio. Head Age Group Coach Kevin Rachal is in his 14th year with CAC, and is an Ohio Coach of the Year award winner. Ken Dunlap is entering his eighth year on the CAC staff. Coach Ken has experience as a head coach, and was recognized by clubs around the state as the Coach of the Year in 2005. Ben Clark was a Seahawk swimmer for ten years, and has since coached at all levels of the program. The head of our Hawk developmental program, Kim Baldasare, was CAC's Head Age Group Coach from 1990-1996.
This continuity is invaluable in developing swimmers through our four stages: developmental, age group, transition, and senior; with eight different instructional and training groups.
The parents, athletes, and coaches of the Cincinnati Aquatics Club believe swimming is a lifelong activity, to be enjoyed long after our racing days are over. We work together to provide a safe, team-oriented environment that teaches skills and habits that are beneficial to the athlete in and out of the water. Our swimmers grow as individuals and develop lifelong friendships, all while increasing their endurance and fitness. They learn the importance of initiative, hard work, loyalty, and sportsmanship in athletics and in life.
We are focused on the progression of each and every Seahawk. The CAC community is extremely proud of our home-grown talent, and the character of the individuals that come through our program. With over 170 current swimmers, many Seahawk alumni swimming in college, and 3 Seahawk alumni on the USA Swimming National Team, CAC can take you as far as you want to go.
