2017-18 Group Info

NAAC 2017-18 Group Descriptions & Breakdown

Our practice group breakdowns for the 2017-18 season follow below.  There is a basic group description, a general season outline, some specific practice information per group (days & times for the base Fall-Winter schedule Sept-Feb), as well as group cost for this coming year.  Group costs listed include the group fee, USA registration ($71), a team cap (latex), and a basic team T-shirt.

We are planning our Mandatory Team Meeting for the evening of Sunday September 17, 2017 – please do clear your calendars that evening and plan on being there to join us; Breaker, Ripple, Wave and Tsunami 4:15-5:30pm and Hurricane, Typhoon, Cyclone and Elite 5:30-6:45pm.  We will be taking attendance and will require the attendance of a family member at this or another make-up meeting (date & time for make-up tbd).  We will go over general principles, our team website, meet entries, team and meet fees, practices and procedures (both old and new), etc… All information you will need to have the coming season run smoothly for your swimmer(s)!

We will do our best to make up missed practice times due to HS or MS meets at the pool and any unforeseen days off (bad weather, loss of electricity, etc), but we can not guarantee all groups make-up practices.  As well, practices are normally cancelled if a group is participating in a meet on concurrent days (Sat/Sun practice would be cancelled if that group was at a Sat/Sun meet, whether your swimmer is at the meet or not) – Hurricane and Typhoon groups with meet weekend practice adjustments are listed in the descriptions below (as they usually have Fri/Sat/Sun practices).

We reserve the right to adjust practice times and/or days as necessary to make programming work best for the team.  Likewise, we will do our very best to stay as close as possible to what is listed below.  The times and days listed below are the BASE Fall & Winter practice schedule (Sept-Feb).  We are planning on hosting technique clinics again this season on select Monday evenings, with a schedule out around the start of October.  Returning college swimmers are always welcome at Cyclone and/or Elite practices, and we expect the College Spring/Summer programming and fees to remain similar (this is not included below).  We will also have a HS/MS Pre-season option available for registration in early September again this year.

We are continuing our non-resident fee of $50 additional to specific group fees for all swimmers residing outside the NAPL School District.

Registration for the 2017-18 season will be open to current team members ONLY for the first 2 weeks, July 1st-14th.  We will then open to any new NAPLS residents on July 15th; and for any interested after that beginning July 22nd – space permitting and evaluations completed, of course.  New swimmer evaluations will be throughout July (now posted) and again in late Aug and early Sept and will be posted to our homepage as confirmed.  Our initial registration window will close for all on July 31st.  We did fill most training groups over the last several years, so please do register ASAP once your registration window opens!

Our 2017-18 Meet Calendar will be posted in summer 2017, with suggested meets per group.

Summer 2017 practices are held at both The Links CC and Denison University and we intend on having Denison plus another location for AM practices summer 2018 season as well.

We are continuing our tradition of swimming excellence and successful competition at NAAC and look forward to seeing all of our returning swimmers as well as some new faces for the 2017-18 swim season!
