Practice Groups
Competitive Swim Groups
 
College Select:  Returning College age swimmers.  Emphasis on advanced competitive stroke technique, rigorous physical conditioning, competitive racing strategies, and dry land conditioning.  These swimmers compete with USA at their Championship meets.
 
Senior Select:  Advanced and High School Swimmers 14+.  Emphasis on advanced competitive stroke technique, rigorous physical conditioning, competitive racing strategies, and dry land conditioning.  A Sports Nutrition Education Program focused on swimming to maximize performance throughout the season.  Goals: qualify for national level meets.
 
High School (HS):  USA provides HS swimmers who are required to attend HS swim practices the ability to train with the Senior Select program all year and attend as many practices as they can with USA during the 3 month HS season.
 
U:  Experienced and advanced 13 – 14 year olds and some select 12 year olds.  Emphasis on advanced competitive stroke technique and rigorous physical conditioning and dry land training.  A Sports Nutrition Education Program focused on swimming to maximize performance throughout the season.   Goals: qualify for and place at Ohio State Junior Olympics & Central Zone meets
 
S:  Experienced and advanced 10 – 12 year olds and some select 9 year olds.  Training emphasizes stroke technique, aerobic conditioning, and dry land training.  A Sports Nutrition Education Program focused on swimming to maximize performance throughout the season.    Goals: qualify for and place at Ohio State Junior Olympics
 
A:  Experienced 9 – 10 year olds.  Focus on learning the proper mechanics of all 4 competitive strokes, starts and turns. Establish aerobic conditioning base and introduce some dry land conditioning.  A Sports Nutrition Education Program focused on swimming to maximize performance throughout the season.   Goals: excel in competitions, place at Regional’s, qualify for Ohio State Junior Olympics
 
Stripes:  Less experienced 10 and under swimmers.  Focus is on learning proper mechanics of all 4 competitive strokes, starts and turns and building confidence at swim meets.  A Sports Nutrition Education Program focused on swimming to maximize performance throughout the season.  Goals: gain experience in USA Swimming competitions, learn how to compete in all four competitive strokes, train to move into the A or S practice groups.
 
Non-Competitive Swim Group
 
Non-Competitive I and II:  This group is tailored for 16 and under swimmers able to perform the four competitive swim strokes but who still need work improving technique & conditioning.
