Program Fees and Fundraising Commitment
2018-2019 Fee Schedule (posted August 23, 2018)
In order to become a member in good standing of the Oakville Aquatic Club, each candidate must complete the online registration process including all forms and waivers, and they must make all required online payments by the due dates. The final opportunity to make payments is communicated annually but must be made prior to the swimmer starting pool training. Swimmers joining throughout the season will have their fees prorated.
Fees may only be paid online according to the schedule set out by OAK at registration.
Swim Ontario & Swimming Canada Registration Fees:
Swim Ontario is the provincial governing body for swimming. All OAK swimmers must be registered annually with Swimming/Natation Canada (SNC) through Swim Ontario in order to compete in meets and to be covered for insurance. All forms and payments must be paid online so that the club can complete the registration before September 30. If the payments are not made on time, your swimmer(s) will NOT be a registered member and therefore will not be permitted to train with the Club.
Pursuant to article IV-C of the club's bylaws, payment of stipulated fees and participation in the fundraising projects of the club, are prerequisites for becoming and remaining a member of the club. No swimmer shall be allowed to participate in the activities of the club unless duly registered and in good standing with respect to the member's financial obligations.
Requests for exceptions to this rule must be made to the Board in writing and must be approved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the Board.
Overdue fees (by 30 days or more) are subject to a $20 late fee penalty.
Online payments have been set up to include a reminder email program outlining amounts due. If amounts are not paid on a timely basis consequences may include removing swimmer from the water until the financial arrears are cleared. In the event that any member account is in arrears for fees or commitments, the business manager shall notify the member in writing of the default and stipulate the action to be taken by the member to remedy the situation. Failure of the member to remedy the default within thirty (30) clear days from the date upon which the notice of default was given shall result in automatic suspension of membership and the suspended party shall not be readmitted to membership unless and until all outstanding obligations to the club have been satisfied.
Members who have failed to meet their financial obligations in a timely manner will be required to pay all outstanding fees in full at registration of the following year. Swimmers may not commence training until this requirement has been satisfied.
All withdrawals must be made in writing to the OAK Office. The effective withdrawal date is the LAST DAY OF THE MONTH that the written request is received by the club. In every case of withdrawal, OAK shall retain all previously collected program registration fees and fundraising commitment fees, however no additional program or fundraising fees will be applied to the member account after that last day of the month of withdrawal. Note that all previously incurred swim meet, special event and volunteer point fees will still be charged to the member account.
The Oakville Aquatic Club will not release through Swim Ontario any member who has failed to meet her/his monetary commitment.
Membership to the Oak Aquatics club is provided on a full year basis. Although you may make membership payments monthly, it should be understood that leaving the club prior to the end of the season is discouraged, and families make every effort to commit to the full swim season.
Entry fees vary by the type of meet, but generally around $12 per event entered, plus a 4% surcharge for credit card fees. Meet entry fees and surcharges will be billed to your Members account prior to the swim meet and must be paid within 30 days of receipt of invoice. Meet fees are not refundable even if your swimmer does not participate in the meet.
