Age: 14-18 years old
Practice Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, for 1 hour 15 minutes, with Saturday mornings and Dryland on Monday and Friday
Description: This group is for high school aged athletes who are dedicated to swimming, but do not yet have the qualifications to swim in the Gold Group. This group will focus on perfecting stroke habits, building speed and efficiency, being self-aware while working on technique and speed, and learning to push through pain and fatigue to reach their goals. Swimmers will learn to manage time, responsibilities, and school, while holding themselves and their teammates to a high standard of excellence. Swimmers should be actively participating in goal setting activities.
- This group is 50% technique and 50% endurance training.
- Swimmers do not need to have B time standards, but must have competed in either USA Swimming meets, summer rec league competition, or high school competition. Swimmers must be able to swim repeat 100’s of freestyle, as well as repeat 50’s of backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Swimmer Expectations: Swimmers must attend a minimum of 3 of 6 practices a week. Swimmers should plan to attend schedule meets, and be entering the focus event of each meet as the season progresses. Swimmers are expected to complete goal setting activities and know goal times for practice purposes.
Equipment: Swimmers need to have a pair of Fins, and a Water Bottle at practice each day. Recommended Equipment
