Eligibility

-       Ages 9 & up

-       10 x 50 @ 1:00

-       Legal and strong technique in all 4 strokes

-       Regularly attends swim meets

-       Good attendance in Silver Group

 

Practices

-       5 days/week, 1.25-1.5 hrs/session

-       Athletes should make 4-5 practices/week

-       Introductory dryland activities to begin build strength & flexibility

 

Emphasis

-       Continued technique development

-       Continued development of aerobic system

-       Exposure to advanced skill & speed work development/USRPT

 

Yardage

-       2000-3500 yards/session

-       Interval training and USRPT sessions are introduced

 

Performance Goals

-       Obtain at least 1 Junior Olympic standard

-       Continue to improve stroke technique

-       Begin to develop important skills: underwaters, turns, starts, race strategies, etc.

-       Begin to swim 100s of all strokes, 500 free style

-       Compete in most team events offered
