The BAC Summer Swim Team (SST) is a program that teaches athletes ages 6-18 the basics of all four competitive strokes; athletes age 5 may join with coach permission (see bottom of page for coach contact info). Participants get the experience of being on a swim team in a fun and low-pressure environment while learning the fundamentals of swimming from a professional coaching staff.
The SST is a part of the West Bay Swim League (WBSL) which consists of six other teams: Menlo Mavericks (MAV), Covington (COV), Ladera (LRD), Pacific Bay Club (PSR), Peninsula Covenant Community (PCC) and Redwood City (RWC). Our season is 6 weeks long and runs from June 20th to July 29th, with 5 dual/tri-meets and 2 special meets (a relay meet and a championship meet). The goals of these competitions are to better each swimmer’s times, gain satisfaction from personal improvement, and take part in a spirited and fun team activity.
The Summer Swim Team is a great opportunity for kids, young adults, and parents to get an idea of what year-round swimming has to offer without making a long-term commitment. The program is open to any swimmer who has some background in swimming lessons and who can complete 25 yards of both freestyle and backstroke.
All swimmers must register with BAC and Pacific Swimming to participate in this program. Fees are assessed at checkout for each of these registrations. The Pacific Swimming registration form must be completed and submitted at or prior to the first practice.
Every swimmer will receive an award for participating on the Summer Swim Team!
