Meet Our Current Team of Instructors
Ella: Hi! My name is Ella and I am a junior at Burlingame High School. I absolutely love swimming and I am so excited to have the opportunity to share my passion with your child. Swimming has always been an important part of my life and I have been swimming club at BAC for over ten years. I even took lessons here, too! Learning to swim is a crucial life skill and my hope is that with my help, your child will not only learn life saving water techniques but also find their love of swimming.
Jojo: Hi, my name is JoJo and I’m a current junior at Burlingame High School! I‘ve been a competitive swimmer since second grade, including at BAC since Middle School, and I’m also on the BHS Water Polo team. I've always had a huge passion for teaching and helping adults and kids of all ages! I work as a BAC lifeguard, I coach soccer to little kids, and I also volunteer as a swim coach for special needs children at UC Berkeley! I’ve been an active volunteer teaching kids and adults at the California Academy of Sciences, helping patients at Mills Peninsula Hospital, tutoring, babysitting, and teaching music theory and piano. I'm super excited to help you learn and develop your swimming skills!
Sofia: Hello! I'm Sofia, a junior at Burlingame High School. I have been swimming for Burlingame Aquatics since I was in third grade, and I have had nothing but amazing experiences with the swim teams and coaches. I am on my high school's water polo and swim teams, where I was team captain my sophomore year. I have always enjoyed working with children, as I have babysat and tutored kids of all ages. Right now, I am working as a certified lifeguard and swim instructor for BAC. I would love to be able to teach your child using my water safety, leadership, and swim skills, and have fun while doing it! Thank you!
Maryanne: Hi I’m Maryanne! I am currently a junior at Burlingame High School where I am on the swim and water polo teams. I am very excited to be teaching swim lessons because I think it is super important that everyone is water safe, and it is a great form of exercise! I was taught how to swim at BAC when I was little, and I am happy to be given the opportunity to pass it on. I look forward to seeing you on the pool deck!
Claire: Hi, my name is Claire! I am currently a student at San Mateo High School and a competitive swimmer on the Burlingame Aquatic Club. I have been swimming competitively since age 8, but I started out by taking mommy-and-me classes and collecting rings at the bottom of the pool! Outside of the pool, I am extremely grateful to be a part of my high school's tutoring program. I am so excited to teach you about swimming skills, along with developing your knowledge of water safety. Swimming has been such an amazing part of my life, and I hope it will be just as fun for you!
Parker: Hi! My name is Parker and I am a rising junior at San Mateo High School. I love the water, especially swimming in it! I started competitive swimming in Kindergarten, and have participated in other water sports like windsurfing, paddle boarding, and some kiteboarding. I love to help and work with people of all ages, and have nannied and babysat kids and infants. Swimming has opened countless opportunities to me, like an environment to happily exercise and lifelong friendships. I hope I can help you find your own opportunities through swimming too! I would love the opportunity to work with you or your child to learn water safety and various swimming skills, and have fun while doing it!
Ryan: Hi my name is Ryan! I am currently a rising senior at Mills High and a part of BAC’s swim team. I have been swimming since I was 4 starting with swim lessons at BAC. I enjoy helping and teaching others, as I have previous experience tutoring elementary students at a local tutor center. I also was the team captain of my high school’s varsity swim team in my junior year. With these great leadership experiences, I look forward to teaching you or your children the importance of water safety and how much fun swimming can be. As a qualified water safety instructor, I am excited to help others learn how to be safe in, out and around water.
Eve: Hi! I'm Eve and I'm a rising sophomore at Washington University in St Louis where I'm studying Biology and swimming on the varsity team. I swam on Mavericks (in Half Moon Bay) for ten years and have been on BAC for the last three. I'm currently assistant coaching at Mavericks and also have experience teaching water safety skills at the Junior Lifeguards program in Half Moon Bay. I love being in the water, both in the pool and surfing in the ocean in my free time. I've met many of my best friends through swimming and it has taught both how to work hard and how to have fun, so I'm excited to be able to pass on my passion for the sport!
Emory: Hi, my name is Emory, and my pronouns are they/them! I am a current senior at Menlo School and a swimmer on the BAC club team. I have been swimming competitively since age six, though I started out far before that, swimming in blow up pools and deep puddles (I lived in Georgia, where there was extreme flooding). I love spending time in the water, whether that be in the ocean or the pool, and I can't wait to share my passion for swimming with others!
