Cubs Division-->Ages- 10 & Under​-->Two Groups (Cubs 2 and Cubs 1)

  • Cubs 2($100)  ​Cubs 1 ($110)

These groups will emphasize the “FUN”damentals. In these groups, swimmers will enter the sport of competitive swimming, be taught the necessary skills and technique that will serve as the building blocks to their success. Following this developmental plan is imperative to keep the sport fun, but also teaching the swimmer/parent the process of long term growth.

 

  • CUBS-2
    • Practice Time--> 60 Min Monday-Friday including
    • Dryland 3X Week X 15 Min *Each  Dryland Session)
    • Events to Compete:
      • 25’s of All Strokes
      • 50 Free/50 Back
    • Need to Know:
      • Freestyle and Backstroke
      • General Concept of Fly/Breast→ May not be 100% Legal
      • Flip in the Water
    • Teaching Priority:
      • Ready Position/Streamline Push-Off
      • Underwater on Backstroke Push-Off
      • Introduce Underwater Fly K (2 off Walls Consistently before Leaving Group)
      • Ability to Count Strokes (Ex:20)
      • Flip Turn into Push-Offs
      • Backstroke Stroke Count (Magic Number/Finish to Hand)
      • Breaststroke-Legal
      • Butterfly-Legal
      • Diving
      • Introduce to Competition (Racing)
      • Breaststroke Pull-Out
      • Legal in all 4 Stroke
    • Secondary Instruction Priority:
      • Backstroke Start
      • Underwater Fly K
      • Diving From Blocks
      • Introduction to Open Turns
      • Backstroke Flipturns
      • Know IM Order
      • Clock Awareness-Leaving :10 sec Apart/Intervals

    • Practice Time Duration 75 Min Monday-Friday including (Dryland 3X Week for 15 Min *Each Dryland Session)

      • 25/50’s of Strokes
      • 100 Free/100 IM
      • 200 FR*Some
    • Need to Know
      • Legal in all 4 Strokes
      • Freestyle Flipturn, Streamline and Dive
    • Teaching Priority:
      • Counting Strokes (Ex: 20)
      • Introduction to Open Turns (Also, Include IM Transitions)
      • Flip Turns→ Push Off and Breakouts
      • Introduction to Underwater Fly K (3-4 K Off Each Wall Consistently)
      • Backstroke Stroke Count (Reinforce)
      • Backstroke Flip Turn
      • Breaststroke Pull Out
      • Freestyle Flipturns *How to Push Off
      • Reinforce IM Order
      • Clock Awareness-Leaving :10 sec Apart/Intervals
      • Timing of Breath on ALL strokes
