Sapphire Squad

Non-Competitive Squads: This group is for swimmers who are interested in swimming as a healthy way of life and/or working towards swimming for our USA Swimming Club team. Swimmers will be working on refining stroke technique and building aerobic endurance. Swimmers will be encouraged to compete in inter-club swim meets and our summer league program. 

Sapphire Squad (Formerly Junior Two)

Age:                 6 and Older

Practice:          Two 1 hour Practices Per Week in the Lap Pool

Focus:              Stroke technique

Goals:              A Healthy Way of Life // Working toward our USA Swimming Club team

Meets:             LMAC hosts three regional meets against other Sapphire Squad swimmers

Equipment:     Swim Cap, Goggles, Kick Board, and Water Bottle

Requirements:

Complete 601 Lessons or Junior One (50 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 25 Butterfly, 25 Breaststroke)

  • Completely Legal Technique, Turns, Diving, and Finishes for all four strokes
  • Focuses on both endurance and technique
