Swimmers are required to participate in at least two regular season meets to receive an end-of-season trophy. Swimmers are encouraged to attend all swim meets and swim as many events as they are capable of swimming.
Experienced swimmers and less experienced swimmers do not compete against one another. The league establishes 4 skill level divisions so that only swimmers with similar ability compete against one another. These skill level divisions are Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Awards and race finishes are based on how swimmers perform against other swimmers in their own skill level division. Points are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each skill level division and ribbons are awarded for the top 8 finishers in each skill level division.
Relays are an exciting event and all swimmers usually look forward to being on a relay. Swimmers are selected for one of the relays based on their Free Style fastest times. The final relay assignments are determined the day before each meet and it is always important that each swimmer check with a coach to determine if they are selected for the relay team.
