Walter Ellard - Head Coach
Walter Ellard has been with the rapids for over twelve years, six of them as a coach. Walter has also been a year round swimmer with SwimAtlanta for more than five years, including national level experience. He is looking forward to having a strong competitive season with an emphasis on fun.
Lindsay Thomas - Assistant Coach
Lindsay Thomas is first year at the University of Georgia studying Linguistics and Cognitive Science. She graduated from Roswell High School in 2017. She participated in Roswell High School Swim Team for four years where she was a state qualifier and a senior captain. Lindsay was also a part of Swim Atlanta Year-round Swim team for 11 years. Her other High School activities include National Honor Society and Girl Scouts. Lindsay has continued to swim at UGA through UGA Club Swimming where she was able to qualify for the Club Swimming Nationals meet. She also participated in UGA Red Cross Club and UGA Filipino Student Association this past school year.
This will be Lindsay's fourth year as an assistant coach for Rapids, and her first year in 12 years not swimming for the youth team. However, she is excited to age up into the Adult Swim League! Lindsay was previously a lifeguard for the rec, and now works as a manager at the pool. She is looking forward to being back at the pool for another summer.
Macky Jones - Assistant Coach
Macky Jones is a rounded recent graduate of Cenntenial high school and is going to Georgia State University. He has been coaching and life-guarding for 2 years and volunteering as an assistant coach for 3 years. He enjoys being a pillar of the community, sponsoring, leading, and founding new experiences for those who share his interests. These include swimming, video games, animation, game theory, and debate. He holds leadership positions in several clubs and groups including president of Games on Friday, bass section leader of Centennial's Chorus, leadership in senior student council, team lead in From the Ashes project, as well as several other various projects. He is looking forward to being back at the pool for another summer.
Noah Griffin - Assistant Coach
Noah Griffin is a rising sophomore at Roswell High School. He's been a swimmer on the Rapids for 8 years and has been a volunteer coach for the last 2 years. Noah also swims year round with Swim Atlanta and has been there for 7 years. He was a state qualifier for the high school swim team this past winter and has been a state qualifier in year round swimming for the past 5 years.
Alex Kerce - Assistant Coach
Alex will graduate from Roswell High School in May 2018 and will study biology in college. Roswell Rapids is where Alex first discovered her love for swimming, six years ago. She also swam with Roswell High School and Swim Atlanta. In addition to swimming, Alex is President of Science National Honors Society this year and enjoys tutoring and volunteering. She has three seasons of experience as a volunteer coach, and one as a lifeguard. She is looking forward to another awesome season!
Anna Trively - Assistant Coach
Anna Trively has been swimming with thr Roswell Rapids for 8 years and swims year round at Chattahoochee Gold. She is also vice president of the robotics team at her school, part of the NHS, Beta, and Mu Alpha Theta club. Anna has volunteer coached for 2 years before becoming an assistant coach.
Maddy Keogh - Assistant Coach
Maddy is a rising junior at Roswell High School. This is her second year with Roswell Rapids and first as a coach! She has been swimming for eight years through PACK swim team in upstate New York, at the high school, and her middle school team, where she was team captain. In school, she participates in theatre, runs for the Cross Country team, and is on student council. She will also be a lifeguard this summer at the Rec and can't wait for another great season!
