2016 Coaches


Ian King - Rapids Head Dive Coach  

Roswell Rapids Head Dive Coach Ian KingIan comes to Roswell Parks and Recreation with a rich and extensive background in competitive gymnastics and springboard diving.  He spent most of his middle and high school years competing in local, regional and national gymnastics and diving meets.  Ian graduated high school nationally ranked in the top 100 gymnasts of graduating seniors.  As a college freshman, he was a member of the William and Mary Men’s gymnastics team.  He continued his athletic endeavors at the University of Florida, participating in the men’s gymnastics squad and the Gator Triathlon Club. He also happened to earn a degree in Architecture along the way.

Ian is employed with Kaiser Permanente as a Performance Improvement Program Manager. Splitting his time between multiple Atlanta medical facilities, he makes sure to find time to train for 10K road races and is a member of the United States Masters Swimming organization.  He swims year round at Swim Atlanta Roswell, competing in local, regional and national swim meets.  Ian also helps coach the Roswell Rec Adult Swim Team during the summer and coaches the Roswell High School dive team.

Ian and his wife of 27 years, Angela, have lived in Roswell for 22 years. They have two children; Sean, 24, a junior at the New School in New York City, and Megan, 21, a junior at Georgia Southern University. This will be Ian's fifth year coaching the Roswell Rapids Dive Team.

Lindsay McGowan - Rapids Assistant Dive Coach

Rapids Dive Team Assistant Coach Lindsay McGowan


This will be Lindsay’s third year coaching for the Roswell Rapids.  She was a member of the Rapids dive team the last two seasons. She dove for Blessed Trinity Catholic High School from 2012 – 2014 in which time she also dove for the Atlanta Diving Association. 

During her high school career with the Blessed Trinity Dive Team, she broke the previously held school record her junior year. Then during her senior year, she broke her own record three times throughout the season. She was the first diver in Blessed Trinity’s history to qualify for the state dive meet. Lindsay participated in the Georgia Games in 2013 and was the Silver Medalist for women’s 1M springboard.

Lindsay attends Seton Hall University, where she is a member of the Swim & Dive Team, majoring in Public Relations with a minor in  Graphic Design and Advertising.

Lindsay is very excited to begin another great season with the Rapids!

Clare Trively - Rapids Assistant Dive Coach

Rapids Assistant Dive Coach Clare Trively

Clare has been diving since 2013. She was a part of the Roswell Rapids dive Team in 2012 and 2013. She was on the Roswell High School Dive team her senior year (2015-2016). Clare is very excited about becoming a part of the Roswell Rapids coaching staff. Clare will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall.
