Community Involvement

On an annual basis, we donate several free family memberships to local fundraisers. Recent beneficiaries have been the Touch-a-Truck Boy Scouts, Willow Oak Montessori School, Woods Charter School, Chapel Hill Chamber of Commerce, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society MWOY fundraiser, Scroggs Elementary School PTA, Northside Elementary Schools Arts in Action program, and Carrboro High School's fundraiser for a community center in the Dominican Republic town of Tenares.

In the summer, we partner with the Heritage Hills Community Association to offer neighborhood cookouts on Memorial Day and Labor Day and a full day of celebratory activities for the Fourth of July. These activities are all open to the public.

In August, we provide our facilities to the Special Olympics for their swim competition at no cost to the Special Olympics.  We used to sponsor a “Swim for Smiles” competition for ages 6 to 18 to raise money for the University of North Carolina Children’s Hospital.

On a year-round basis, we have donated use of our facilities to an ASL performance group with 501(c)3 status, Boy and Girl Scout troops for meetings, a French class for elementary students, and any other organization that requests our facilities.  We also have fall and spring tennis clinics for all ages.

Our basketball courts and playground are open to families in the neighborhood throughout the year.

If you are interested in a donated membership or use of our clubhouse, please contact our club manager at and that person will forward it to the Board of Directors.
