2020 KRA Coaches

Head Coach: Ruby Kratzert

Coach Ruby is excited to return to KRA this summer as head coach. She is a UVA graduate (Go Hoos!) and has a wealth of coaching experience in the Richmond area. During the year, she is a 1st grade teacher at Nuckols Farm Elementary School. She loves working with all ages and ability levels, and looks forward to another FUN summer season with the Firefish!

Asst. Head Coach: Jenn Vieni

Jen grew up swimming at GRAL at Old Church Community Center, year-round at BAC, and at JMU on their D1 women’s team. She has coached several swim teams, and is currently a 5th grade teacher at Nuckols Farm Elementary School. She loves working with all age groups and levels, from those just learning how to swim, up to those who compete competitively. Jen is so excited to be joining KRA this summer!

Asst. Coach: Peyton Proffitt

Peyton is thrilled to return as a KRA coach this summer. She grew up swimming for Kanawha, NOVA and Douglas S. Freeman HS, and just completed her freshman year at the College of William & Mary, where she swims on their Division 1 team. Peyton is super excited to continue sharing her love for the sport with all of the Firefish swimmers. She can’t wait to help them improve and have fun all summer long!

Asst. Coach: Liam Ryan

Liam is super excited to join the Kanawha swim team for the first time this summer. He is a rising senior at the Collegiate School and swims for NOVA, where he has trained since he was 10 years old. Before joining Kanawha, Liam swam for Westwood and most recently was an assistant coach at Walton Park. Liam is super excited to help swimmers grow and improve this season, and can’t wait for summer to start!

Asst. Coach: Erik Kratzer

Erik is more than excited to join the KRA coaching staff. He started swimming for the Firefish when he was 5, and has been swimming year-round at NOVA since he was 7 years old. He is also a rising senior on the swim team at Douglas S. Freeman High School. Erik is thrilled to fulfill and continue the Kratzer legacy!

James is thrilled to be joining the KRA coaching staff. He started swimming for the Firefish when he was 5 years old, and has been swimming year-round at NOVA since he was 6 years old. He is also a rising junior on the swim team at Douglas S. Freeman High School. James is looking forward to achieving a lifelong dream of coaching the KRA swim team!
